MEFAgency is thrilled to announce our new client, Crystal Alejandro, creator of Black Femininity TV!
Black Femininity TV (BFTV) is a YouTube channel created and run by Crystal Alejandro. The channel was created to talk about subjects that interest the Black community, specifically Black femmes. It is "where Black women and pop culture meet."
As a young teenager, Alejandro discovered her passion for creating videos and sharing them on YouTube, which quickly turned into a beloved hobby. However, as she transitioned into early adulthood and found herself unfulfilled by uninteresting jobs, she grappled with finding her true calling. Then, in the summer of 2018, Alejandro had a resurgence of inspiration and posted her first video on Black Femininity TV (BFTV). Her motivation stemmed from a desire to shed light on the erasure and lack of recognition Black femmes faced despite their significant contributions to pop culture as trendsetters and tastemakers. Through BFTV, she now aims to celebrate and amplify the voices of Black femmes, providing them with the acknowledgment they rightfully deserve.
BFTV began with videos discussing Black people's disdain for Justin Timberlake, the demise of 3LW, and Jay-Z/R. Kelly feud. The YouTube channel has come a long way since then and has become a staple in Black pop culture. While continuing to produce content that covers major pop culture moments, the channel has recently launched BFTV Confidential.
Crystal Loves MEF Agency
As a friend of MEFeater Magazine, Crystal became aware that MEF Agency was being formed. Around the same time, she began to develop a new creative venture, BFTV Confidential. She stated that as she pursued her idea, she wanted to work with an agency that was accessible, connected, and understood her as a creator.
BFTV Confidential will serve as an interview/documentary series with guests like Aliyah of Aliyah's Interlude and Dess Dior. Most recently, BFTV gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at Monaleo's music video Ass Kickin', along with a one-on-one interview. Crystal's new relationship with MEFAgency will allow her to continue utilizing the talent resources that the agency has gained over the years, furthering her goals.
Crystal also stated that it was important for her to work with an agency that was willing to grow with her. A lot times, agencies will overlook creators like Crystal but MEFAgency notices her hard work and potential.
The MEFAgency is excited to be working with Crystal and Black Femininity TV and is ready to bring more pop culture to your screens!
